Treasury Department to Phaseout Paper Checks
Effective September 30, 2025, the executive order "Modernizing Payments to and From America’s Bank Account" calls for the Treasury Department to stop the receipt or disbursement of paper checks. Going forward electronic receipts and payments will have to be made with limited exceptions.
